The sitemap also tells the search engines the location of a page on the given site when it was uploaded and the page’s importance as it would be related to the pages on other sites.

Review the page’s structures

Firstly, you need to look at the current content on site and see how well the site is structured. Above all, you need to know that it starts with a homepage where you have to ask where the homepage links. Not all pages are equally created regarding SEO. You need to consider the dept of your site while you are doing this.

You also need to understand the pages that are way away from your site’s homepage, which will be challenging to rank. As per experts, you need to create a sitemap that features a shallow depth meaning it would take only three clicks to navigate any pages on site that promise a fantastic SEO purpose.

Finally, you need to create a page hierarchy based on priority and how you want it to be indexed. You can easily prioritize the content in tiers that follow a logical order.

Code URLs

Once you have learned the importance of all pages, you need to start coding for the URLs. First, you need to format the URL with XML pages.

The process will be seamless for you if you have any experience with HTML. ML in XML means markup language, which is similar to HTML.

Even though it is new for you, it isn’t that challenging to figure out. You can start by getting a text editor where you can easily create an XML file.

Above all, text editors can make your life way more manageable when it is all about adding codes. All you need to do is be sharp.

Validate your code

Human error is bound to happen if you enter the code manually. You cannot have mistakes in coding if you want your sitemap to work correctly.

Thankfully there are several tools available which ensure your code aligns with syntax. You can also find some software online. You need to run a quick search on search engines like Google, and you are sorted.

Add the sitemap to root and robots.txt file. You can quickly locate the root folder and add a sitemap example to this folder. When you do this, you can actually add some pages to your site, and it isn’t a problem at all.

Being a matter of fact, several websites have this. You need to type in a website, add a sitemap to the URL, and check what pops on your screen. You need to explore those structures along with the section’s hierarchy.

Besides adding the sitemap file to your folder, you can also add the same to the robots.txt. file. You can find it roots folder also. Ideally, this gives a warning for the crawlers indexing your site.

There are several uses for the robots.txt file. You can use this to show some search engines in URL that you don’t want them to index you when they are crawling on the site. You can decide it all by yourself as not everyone will ask you to add sitemaps to the robots.txt file.

Submit your sitemap

It’s time for you to submit them to the various search engines once you have created your sitemap and added them to multiple files. You can easily do this by exploring the Google Search console. You can navigate crawl when you are on the search console board.

There is a chance for you to test the sitemap again if there are any errors before you get going. Then, of course, you need to fix the mistakes, if any. Once you feel your site is free of errors, you can click submit and sort.

From here, Google will surely handle everything ahead, and crawlers will also index your site quickly, and your SEO rankings will also be accelerated.
